Pune: Anti-robbery squad arrested house burglary gang from Pimpri-Chinchwad, 18 tola gold jewellery & pistol seized

Pune: The anti-robbery squad has arrested a gang involved in robbery, forcible theft and burglary in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Police have seized 18 tola gold ornaments worth Rs 12.11 lakh, one country made pistol and two live cartridges from the accused.

The accused have been identified as Kiran Gurunath Rathod, Arjun Kalappa Suryavanshi and Santosh Jaihind Gupta.

According to the police the main accused Kiran Raghunath Rathod was arrested from Dighi area. Investigation has revealed that many thefts have been committed by him in the last eight to ten months. At the same time his accomplice Arjun Kalappa Suryavanshi and Santosh Jaihind Gupta were also detained and thoroughly interrogated. Police investigation revealed that the accused confessed to committing five crimes of burglary and one robbery.

The action was initiated by police commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey, upper police commissioner Vasant Pardeshi, deputy commissioner of police Swapna Gore, assistant police commissioner Satish Mane, police inspector Jitendra Kadam, Amrish Deshmukh, Bharat Gosavi along with police personnel Rajesh Kaushalye, Sumit Deokar, Ganesh Sawant, Vinod Veer and carried out by Ashish Bunkar, Ganesh Shinde, Kokane, Pulgam, Raskar, Kadam, Khande, Lokhande, Shedge, Kharge, Supe and Rouge.
