Pune: 14 flats broken in just one night in Baramati, about 20 tolas of gold stolen

Pune: In a shocking incident in Baramati city an unknown thieves broke into 14 flats near the district sports complex and stole nearly 22.5 tolas of gold and Rs 1 lakh in cash.

A gang of five to six people came in their four-wheeler at around 2-4 am in the morning on Thursday, August 17 and targeted around 14 flats in five apartments near the district sports complex by breaking the locks.

Additional superintendent of police Anand Bhoite, sub-divisional police officer Ganesh Ingle, police inspector Dinesh Taide along with the force of the local crime investigation branch have reached the spot.

There is an atmosphere of fear in Baramati city as the gang broke into 14 flats in a single night. Fortunately, in this incident no citizen was assaulted by the thief, but the closed flats were targeted, sub-divisional police officer Ganesh Ingle said.

When there are so many house burglaries in a single night, one wonders where exactly the police on patrol were and how no one could find out about it even after so many house burglaries. The police have immediately started an investigation by checking the CCTV footage.

Additional superintendent of police have been formed and CCTV footage of the thieves car and the thieves have been received. Most of the flats in which burglaries have taken place are closed. He also said that nearly 20 tolas of gold was stolen in a single flat.
