The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar, following the relentless efforts of MLA Sunil Tingre to find effective solutions to the city’s traffic woes.

Details of the Decision: During a meeting held on Saturday (23rd December), Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar presided over discussions with various stakeholders, including Industries Minister Uday Samant, MLA Sunil Tingre, Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Pune Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, PMC Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane, and Senior NHAI Officer Abhijit Awte. The primary focus of the meeting was to devise a plan to make Nagar Road signal-free.

Double-Decker Flyover to Ramwadi: A decision was reached to construct a double-decker flyover on Nagar Road through the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), which will now directly connect to Ramwadi instead of Wagholi. MLA Sunil Tingre emphasized the need for a signal-free solution to alleviate traffic jams on city roads. Detailed project plans for the double-decker flyover are now in the works.

The tender process for this project is set to commence promptly, providing relief to commuters navigating this critical junction.

Additional Measures and Road Projects: Discussions also addressed the stalled Shivne-Kharadi road project, with Ajit Pawar instructing municipal officials to expedite the land acquisition process and ensure the completion of the road construction at the earliest. Additionally, Pawar suggested an inspection of the area by PMC’s Additional Commissioner to explore the construction of alternative roads from Santnagar, Five Nine Chowk to Dhanori, Vishrantwadi.
