Pune: Molestation of Minor Girl Leads to Registration of Complaint Against Accused Under POCSO in Narhe

Pune: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly chased in an attempt to talk to her and was molested by the accused. Furthermore, when the accused refused to talk to her, the accused brazenly issued death threats to her and her family members. This shocking incident took place repeatedly from August 2023 to April 22, 2024, at Raikar Mala in Dhayari.

In this regard, a victim girl filed a complaint against the accused at Sinhagad Road Police Station. The accused has been identified as Ramesh Baban Margale and is a resident of Khedekar Nagar, near Navale Bridge, Narhe.

As per the complaint, the accused and the victim have been known to each other. The accused was repeatedly chasing and molesting the girl from 2023 onwards. In the latest such incident, the accused stopped the victim near Silver Birch Hospital in Raikar Mala on Monday, April 22, on the pretext of talking to her. When the girl refused to talk to him, the accused threatened not to spare her family members if she did not talk to him and threatened to kill them.

After that, the girl promptly filed a police complaint against the accused. Taking swift action on the received complaint, the Sinhagad Road Police registered a case against the accused under IPC 354(d), 506, and the POCSO Act. Police sub-inspector Patil is conducting further investigation.
