In a recent development, the Social Security Cell of Pune City Police has apprehended seven Bangladeshi women for residing illegally in the Budhwar Peth area of Pune. The arrests came as a result of targeted operations in response to information indicating the presence of foreign nationals staying without proper authorization within the city.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that these women had been living in Pune for more than four years, and none of them possessed valid documents permitting their stay in India. Subsequently, the detained individuals were transferred to the Faraskhana Police for further legal proceedings, and a case has been registered against them under the relevant sections of the law.

This incident underscores the heightened efforts of the Pune Police’s Social Security Cell to curb the issue of foreign nationals residing illegally in the city. Prior to this operation, similar arrests of Bangladeshi nationals had been made in Budhwar Peth. Investigations revealed that these individuals had illicitly crossed international borders, and some had even resorted to forging documents in their bid to remain in India.
