Pune: In a fraudulent counterfeit paper scam, Sinhagad Road Police booked three people for allegedly implicating the Pune Municipal Corporation and individuals in a conspiracy to create counterfeit land certificates and other documents between August 2021 and November 30, 2022. In this case, Vishal Prakash Pokle filed a police complaint, bringing the matter to the attention of the authorities.

The complaint has led to the filing of a case against three individuals, including a woman, on charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, IPC 420, 465, 467, 468, and 34. The accused have been identified as Mayur Bhagwan Chavan, Rohan Bhagwan Chavan, and Asha Bhagwan Chavan, all residents of Kasba Peth, Dhole Wada, Pune.

The modus operandi of the accused involved a fraudulent act of fabricating a counterfeit land certificate issued by the Pune Municipal Corporation, essential for completing the registered agreement for a flat.

Additionally, they created fraudulent stamps and letterheads of the housing society involved in the case, Kudale Patil Garden Cooperative Housing Society. Furthermore, to pose their paper as authentic, they prepared a no-objection certificate on the society’s forged letterhead, bearing the names of the Chairman and Secretary.

The accused cunningly deceived both the government and society by presenting these falsified documents as genuine. Upon discovering this fraudulent activity, Vishal Pokle lodged a formal complaint with the police, prompting a thorough investigation into the matter. The case is currently under the supervision of Police Sub-Inspector Patil.
