Pune, August 20, 2023 – A heart-wrenching incident unfolded near Sangvi Phata as a 26-year-old biker lost his life in a collision with a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal (PMPML) bus. The tragic accident occurred as the biker, who was riding within the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane, collided head-on with the bus. The young man, identified as Rushikesh Bhimrao Bhalerao and hailing from Urulu Devachi, suffered grave injuries in the collision and tragically succumbed to them, despite medical attention.
The sequence of events that led to this devastating accident unfolded around 1:50 pm on a fateful Saturday on the Dhore Patil Bridge near Sangvi Phata. The PMPML bus, with passengers on board, was en route from Chinchwad Depot to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) when the accident transpired. The young biker, traveling in the opposite direction of the bus and within the exclusive BRT lane, faced difficulty controlling his bike. In a catastrophic turn of events, his bike collided with the PMPML bus with significant impact, resulting in the tragic loss of his life.
