Pune, August 8th, 2023: In a bid to alleviate traffic congestion and ensure the seamless movement of vehicles, the Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Police have instituted revised parking regulations encompassing several areas in Sangvi.
Notably, the stretch between Kokane Chowk and Park Street Society has consistently grappled with heavy traffic, primarily due to the considerable presence of two-wheelers and four-wheelers. This corridor, extending from Kokane Chowk to Raghunath Godambe Chowk, has frequently experienced challenges posed by vehicles parked on both sides of the road, leading to recurrent traffic bottlenecks.
In a concerted effort to uphold the safety and efficiency of traffic in Pimpri Chinchwad city, the traffic police have issued definitive directives, with exceptions reserved for essential service vehicles such as fire brigade, police vehicles, and ambulances. The forthcoming measures are as follows:
- A no-parking zone will be enforced on the main road from Kokane Chowk to NS Snacks Centre.
- A no-parking zone designation will be applicable on the main road from Raghunath Godambe Chowk to Kokane Chowk.
- The service road from Raghunath Godambe Chowk to Kokane Chowk Chowpatty will be designated as a no-parking zone.
The formal notification officially establishing these areas as no parking zones is slated for imminent publication. The regulations are scheduled to take effect from August 8, 2023.
By instituting these measures, local authorities aim to curb the persistent traffic congestion that has inconvenienced commuters along this route. The decision underscores the commitment to maintaining the safety and convenience of both pedestrians and motorists. As urban areas continue to grapple with growing vehicular densities, responsive traffic management initiatives play a pivotal role in enhancing overall city mobility.
