Pune: A childhood friend took the advantage of friendship and raped a 26-year-old woman by threatening her that he will make the pictures of him along with her viral. The incident took place within the limits of Chandan Nagar police station. An FIR has been filed against the accused of Beed district based on the complaint of the victim.
A 26-year old woman living in Chandannagar area has lodged a complaint in this matter. Chandannagar police has registered a case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 376, 504, 506, 354 (d) against Asif Rahim Shaikh a resident of Padli in Shirur district in Beed. This incident took place between July 2022 and December 13, 2022 in a hotel in Wagholi and at the house of the accused’s brother in Chandannagar.
According to the police, the victim and the complainant are childhood friends. The accused threatened the woman by making the simple photos taken by them together to go viral and also to kill her uncle. He forcibly established a physical relationship with the woman. After the victim complained about this, the police immediately registered a case against the accused. Further investigation is being conducted by woman police sub-inspector Muluk.
