Pune: A young man sent a cake to a young woman’s residential address on her birthday. However, she refused to accept it, which infuriated the youth. He straightaway went to her house and beat her up. He also molested her. The incident took place at a tony housing society in Undri on Friday.
The 30-year-old woman lodged a complaint at the Kondhwa police station. Ankit Singh (31), a resident of Anand Nagar, has been booked under sections 354 (b), 354 (d), 452, 352, 323 of the IPC.
According to the police, the accused had a one-sided love affair. He got the woman’s phone number and tried to befriend her. However, she blocked his phone number. He tried calling her from different numbers. The incident happened from May 2022 till date.
Meanwhile, the accused sent a cake to the woman’s residential address on August 24. However, she did not accept it. This upset the accused. He went to her house after fighting with the security guard and beat her up and tried to tear her clothes, making her feel ashamed. The police booked the man on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim. The Kondhwa Police are investigating further.
