Pune Police Crime Branch starts counselling of students in city colleges under ‘Yuva Vichar Parivartan’ initiative

Pune : The Crime Branch of the Pune Police has started counselling students in the city under the initiative ‘Yuva Vichar Parivartan’ (Youth Thought Transformation) in the backdrop of growing incidents of crime.

The initiative was launched at Poona College. It is being implemented through the social outreach programme conceptualised by CP Retesh Kumaarr and Jt CP Sandeep Karnik.

Around 100 students from Classes XI and XII were counselled by the Crime Branch Unit 6 at Poona College. Principal Anwar Shaikh, Gulab Pathan and Sr PI Rajnish Nirmal were present as the chief guests.

Sr PI Nirmal guided the students on growing drug addiction among youths. He explained the ill effects of addiction on personal, familial and social life of a person. He guided girl students on taking measures during their daily commute, trips and while travelling late at night.

Sr PI Nirmal also highlighted the demerits of social media and its misuse among the youth and how to use it constructively. He also informed them about competitive exams and asked them to maintain social harmony and unity.

The initiative is being conducted in cooperation with RK Multipurpose Organisation. Students from city colleges will be counselled under the initiative.

The introductory speech was given by Principal Anwar Shaikh. Gulab Patil proposed a vote of thanks. Teachers from the college and RK Multipurpose Organisation’s Bhagyashri Salunke were present.
