Traffic at Chandni Chowk shut for three hours at night for 12 days

Pune: Traffic on the Katraj to Dehur Road road will be closed from 12.30 pm to 3.30 am every day from 4th to 15th July for construction of bridge girder at Chandni Chowk. Collector Dr. A meeting was held on Wednesday in the presence of the collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh about diversion of traffic for this work . Superintendent of Police Pune Rural Ankit Goyal, Deputy Commissioner of Police Pune City Traffic Wing Vijay Kumar Magar, Director NHAI Sanjay Kadam were present in the meeting.

The work of the new NDA- Pashan main bridge is in progress. A decision has been taken to divert the traffic for an uninterrupted construction. During this period only the traffic of multi-axle vehicles will be stopped for 3 hours. These vehicles will be stopped at Mumbai Expressway, Talegaon toll plaza and Mumbai-Pune old highway, Somatne toll plaza and vehicles coming from Satara will be stopped at Khed-Shivapur toll plaza.

Traffic on the Pune-Satara National Highway will be closed at night for construction of the main bridge (VOP) girder of Chandni Chowk project. Therefore, citizens should use alternative service roads during this period.

During the traffic closure period, light vehicles, buses and truck drivers will be able to use the service road on both sides after the closure of the main highway. To reach Satara/ Kothrud from Mumbai, the newly constructed service road and Ramp-6 will have to be used. Also, to reach Mumbai and Mulshi via Satara and Kothrud (Pune city), the newly constructed service road and Ramp-8 should be used from Veda Bhavan side.
