Pune, August 21st, 2023: In a laudable initiative aimed at contributing to environmental conservation, the Rotary Club of Chinchwad has partnered with CST Green Solution to lead a significant tree plantation project. Organized in collaboration with District 3131, this endeavor seeks to foster a greener and more sustainable environment for the residents of Pune.
The event, which took place on August 20, 2023, at Gathagram, Dehugaon, Pune, brought together participants from various clubs, interact clubs, students, and volunteers.
Under the guidance of District 3131, the event witnessed the convergence of approximately 500 participants from 7 different clubs, interact clubs, and local volunteers. This collective effort culminated in the successful planting of 5,000 saplings, each contributing to the vision of a verdant future for the region.
DGN Santosh Marathe, a distinguished figure in the field, graced the event as the Chief Guest, alongside esteemed personalities such as District Project Chair Rtn. Nikhil Takale, District Environment Director Rtn. Santosh Pardeshi, and CSR partner Mr. Sandeep Sonigra. Their presence underscored the commitment of local organizations, experts, and individuals to the cause of environmental sustainability.
This tree plantation initiative, spanning from August 2 to August 27, aims to see the planting of an impressive 1,50,000 trees across government-owned land areas near the riverside. This comprehensive approach goes beyond mere planting, as measures are in place to ensure the saplings receive the requisite care and attention, nurturing their growth.
What sets this initiative apart is its focus on planting native tree species rather than foreign ones.
