Mumbai: Aug 3 (UNI )NCP (Sharad Pawar Group) Maharashtra unit president Jayant Patil on Thursday wondered in the state assembly why the DRDO high-ranking official Pradeep Kurulkar, suspected of having passed off secret information about the country to a Pakistani woman, was not prosecuted under the crime of sedition.
Kurulkar was arrested by ATS in Pune in May, and is being prosecuted under the Official Secrets Act.
The officer was allegedly honeytrapped by a Pakistani agent and is accused of providing secret information of the Indian missile system to her..
Speaking in detail on the issue, Patil said that the officer should be prosecuted for sedition.
He also demanded the Chief Minister order an inquiry as to why a case of sedition was not filed against Kurulkar,.
