Satara : Jul 21 (UNI) Four members of a family committed suicide at Sanbur village in.Maharashtra’s Satara district on Friday, police said.
The deceased included an old couple, their son and a married daughter.
The victims identified as Ananda Pandurang Jadhav (75), his wife Sunanda (65), son Santosh (45), all resident if Sanbur, and their married daughter Pushpalata Prakash Dhas – a resident of Mandrurkole, were found dead in their sleep.
Ananda, who was ill and taking medical treatment, had been taken to Krushna hospital on Thursday before being discharged late at night.
The unfortunate incident came to light when Pushpalata’s son called up to enquire about his grandfather’s health but received no response. He rushed to their residence along with other relatives, but there was no response from inside the house. They then broke open the door only to find all of them dead in their sleep.
Police were yet to ascertain why the victims took the extreme step
