Noida Traffic Alert: Elevated Road Closure for Maintenance Sparks Traffic Diversion Plans

Noida Authorities Roll Out Traffic Diversion Strategy as Elevated Road Repair Work Begins

Noida residents and commuters are advised to brace for changes in traffic patterns as repair work on the MP2 Elevated Road is slated to commence this Sunday. With one lane of the elevated road set to close for maintenance, diversions are being implemented to ensure minimal disruption to daily commutes.

Repair Work Details:

The MP2 Elevated Road in Noida, a vital artery for vehicular movement, is undergoing maintenance due to signs of wear and tear. The repair process involves scraping off the existing road surface and laying down a fresh layer of bitumen. This extensive maintenance is expected to span approximately three months, during which commuters may experience delays, especially on the lower roads.

Phased Maintenance Approach:

Officials have outlined a phased approach to the repair work. Initially, the focus will be on the stretch from Sector-28, near Vishwa Bharati School, to Sector-24, NTPC. This phase entails the closure of the elevated road for vehicles coming from Sector-18. Alternate routes have been designated to redirect traffic flow.

Traffic Diversion Strategy:

DCP Traffic Anil Kumar Yadav has articulated a comprehensive traffic diversion plan to manage the flow of vehicles during the repair period:

  1. Atta Peer to Sector-61 Route: Commuters are advised to take Sector-27 DM Residence Chowk, Jalvayu Vihar, Modi Mall Chowk, and Adobe Chowk to Sector-54 Police Chowki Tiraha.
  2. DND Flyover to Sector-61 Route: Vehicles from the DND Flyover can proceed via Sector-37, Sector-32 City Center, and Hoshiyarpur using the Mahamaya Flyover route.
  3. Kalindi Kunj Border to Sector-18 Route: Travelers can ascend the elevated road and then descend via the Mahamaya Flyover, Sector-37, City Center, and Hoshiyarpur.
  4. Noida Stadium Chowk to Modi Mall Chowk Route: Vehicles can take a left turn from Sector-31-25 Chowk, traverse the Service Road, and reach the U-turn near NTPC-ISKCON Temple.

DCP Anil Yadav emphasized, “The maintenance work on the elevated road aims to enhance road safety and efficiency. We have devised a traffic diversion plan to mitigate congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement during this period.”
