Eyes in the Sky: Gurugram Traffic Police’s Drone Initiative Targets Lane Violators

In a pioneering move to curb lane-changing violations on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway-48, the Gurugram Traffic Police have taken to the skies with drones. This high-flying initiative aims to enhance road safety and instill discipline among drivers. Let’s delve into the details of this innovative approach:

1. The Sky Patrol:

Gurugram Traffic Police initiated a special campaign using drones to monitor lane-changing violations on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway-48.

2. A Bird’s-Eye View:

Equipped with cameras, drones provided a real-time aerial perspective, capturing footage of vehicles changing lanes without adhering to proper procedures.

3. The Numbers Game:

A total of 6866 fines were issued during the campaign, resulting in a substantial sum of ₹58,09,600.

4. Vehicles in the Spotlight:

Fines were issued across various vehicle categories, with a majority imposed on truck drivers (5797 fines), followed by private buses (518 fines) and school buses (211 fines).

5. Future Sky Patrols:

Gurugram Traffic Police plan to expand their drone-based enforcement in the coming weeks, deploying more drones to effectively monitor traffic violations.

6. Appeal for Responsible Driving:

Authorities have appealed to transporters and educational institutions to ensure their drivers strictly adhere to traffic rules, particularly lane-changing regulations.

7. Stay in Your Lane:

To enhance road safety, heavy vehicles are advised to remain in the leftmost lanes, allowing faster-moving vehicles to pass smoothly. Changing lanes without proper signaling not only poses dangers but can also result in fines.

By employing drones for traffic regulation enforcement, Gurugram Traffic Police are taking a proactive step toward safer roads and fostering disciplined driving habits. Remember, following traffic rules and staying in your lane is the key to a smooth and accident-free journey.
