Delhi Metro and DTC Adjust Services for Holi Celebrations

Temporary Changes Implemented for Public Safety and Convenience

As the festival of colors, Holi, draws near, Delhi’s public transportation systems are gearing up to accommodate the festivities while ensuring the safety and convenience of commuters. Both the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) have announced temporary adjustments to their services on March 25th, aligning with the spirit of the occasion.

Delhi Metro’s Holi Schedule Adjustments

In a recent announcement made via social media platforms, the DMRC unveiled its plan to suspend Delhi Metro services until 2:30 PM on March 25th. This pause in operations is intended to prioritize the safety of passengers and staff during the peak hours of Holi celebrations. Following the temporary closure, metro services will resume, allowing commuters to continue their journeys with ease and comfort.

The decision comes amidst heightened security concerns following recent events, including the temporary closure of stations like ITO and Lok Kalyan Marg. The reopening of these stations reflects the DMRC’s commitment to ensuring the smooth functioning of its services while upholding public safety standards.

DTC Bus Service Advisory for Holi

Echoing the metro’s schedule adjustments, the DTC has also announced a suspension of its bus services until 2 PM on March 25th. Following this period, a reduced fleet of CNG and electric buses will operate, catering to the expected decrease in passenger numbers during the evening hours.

Notably, there will be no alterations to the bus shading schedule on March 24th, the day of Holika Dahan, as it coincides with a Sunday. Passengers seeking information regarding bus routes or other inquiries are encouraged to contact the DTC call center for assistance.

Delhi Police’s Safety Measures for Holi

Furthermore, Delhi Police have rolled out comprehensive safety measures to ensure a secure environment for all during the Holi festivities. Special teams will be deployed at key intersections across the city, focusing on preventing traffic violations such as drunk driving, overspeeding, and reckless driving.

The initiative underscores Delhi Traffic Police’s commitment to safeguarding pedestrians and motorists alike, emphasizing the importance of responsible behavior on the roads during celebratory occasions.
