Delhi Metro and DTC Bus Services Extended for Election Day

On May 25, Delhi’s electorate will vote for all seven Lok Sabha seats in a single phase. The main political players in this election are the BJP, Congress, AAP, and other parties within the INDIA bloc. To ensure smooth transportation for voters and election duty personnel, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced extended metro services, while the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System Limited (DIMTS) have also adjusted their schedules.

Metro Services Schedule

To facilitate easy transportation on election day, the DMRC has decided to start metro services on all lines from 4 AM. This initiative aims to help election duty staff reach their assigned locations on time and allow voters to fully utilize the metro services.

  • Early Morning Service: From 4 AM to 6 AM, metro trains will operate at 30-minute intervals.
  • Regular Service: After 6 AM, metro services will continue throughout the day as per the usual schedule.

Enhanced Bus Services

In addition to the extended metro services, DTC and DIMTS have made special arrangements to ensure comprehensive coverage on election day.

  • DTC Services: Starting from 4 AM, additional bus services will operate on 35 routes.
  • DIMTS Services: DIMTS will also provide bus services on 46 routes.

The special bus routes are designed to facilitate easy access to polling stations, particularly for residents in border areas and remote locations of the National Capital Region (NCR). These routes aim to efficiently transport employees, security personnel, and officials.
