Chhatrapati Sambhaijnagar

Chhatrapati Sambhaijnagar, Jul 25 (UNI) As a part of state-wide protest held by NCP in Maharashtra against the Manipur incident, the office-bearers and activists of the city and district unit of the party on Tuesday staged a silent protest by covering their mouths with a black ribbon in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Shahganj locality of the city.

The protest was led by party’s city unit president Khawaja Sharfoddin Mulla and district unit president Pandurang Tangde-Patil.

“The incident that happened in Manipur against women is very sad in the history of the country and its repercussions are constantly emerging in various states of the country. There is increased tension between the two communities in the state, but the Manipur government has failed to take proper remedial measures and strict action against the perpetrators,” they expressed on this occasion.
