Pune: Murlidhar Mohol prepares Sankalp Patra for developed, safe and sustainable Pune

Pune: Mah Yuti-BJP Lok Sabha candidate Murlidhar Mohol has resolved to promote developed, safe and sustainable Pune. BJP State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule released the Sankalp Patra in this regard on Wednesday.

State Minister Chandrakant Patil, MP Medha Kulkarni, MLA Ashish Deshmukh, BJP State Vice-President Rajesh Pande, BJP City Unit President Dheeraj Ghate, Pune Lok Sabha Incharge Shrinath Bhimale, NCP (AP) City Unit President Deepak Mankar, Shiv Sena (BT) City Unit President Nana Bhangire, MNS City Unit President Sainath Babar, MNS leader Babu Vagaskar, RPI City Unit President Sanjay Sonawane, Lahuji Kranti Sena’s Nitin Waidande, Maha Yuti Coordinator Sandeep Khardekar, and western Maharashtra Media Head Amol Kavitkar were present.

Public transport in Pune will be made strong and fast. Follow-ups will be taken for planning and speedy completion of extended Metro railway routes such as Ahmednagar Road, Satara Road, old Mumbai-Pune Road, Solapur Road, Shivajinagar, Hinjawadi and Kothrud suburb.

Follow-ups on Daund-Pune-Talegaon-Lonavala EMU, Pune-Daund local service and Nashik-Pune railway route will be taken with the Railway Ministry. The Pune, Shivajinagar, Khadki and Hadapsar railway stations will be developed. Lengths of the runways at the Lohegaon airport will be increased. A six-lane flyover on Pune-Ahmednagar Road from Yerwada to Shikrapur will be pursued with the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).

Resolutions for Pune city

Work on the equitable water supply project will be expedited. Old lakes, wells and other water sources will be rejuvenated. New STPs will be completed and run at their full capacity.

Biodiversity on hills around Pune will be protected. Environment-friendly initiatives such as power generation through garbage, manure production will be implemented through ‘Waste to Wealth’. The demand to grant the Classical Language status to Marathi will be pursued.

Plogathon initiatives will be implemented frequently to make Pune free of litter. E-solid waste management and recycling units will be set up. Solar power will be encouraged at housing societies, public places and commercial complexes. The State Government’s policy to set up an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be pursued.

The PMC’s Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College will be run with the full capacity. A hospital attached to the college will be built. Care will be taken to protect doctors from attacks by patients’ relatives. Slum-dwellers will get houses under the revised slum rehabilitation regulations.

An app will be developed for the auto-rickshaw service at the government level. Skill development programmes will be implemented using CSR funds from private companies. A sports university will be set up at the Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mhalunge-Balewadi. Students and educational institutions will be connected to private companies, hospitals, IT and other sectors.

Work on Lahuji Vastad Salve memorial at Sangamwadi will be expedited. Follow-up will be taken on the Bhide Wada National Memorial. The ASI rules do not allow constructions within a 100-m periphery of heritage structures. This matter will be pursued to allow building activity.

Proposals to merge the Pune and Khadki cantonments into the PMC will be pursued and higher FSI will be sought for these areas.

Brainstorming will be held to amalgamate Pune’s Ganeshotsav tradition with new ways to make it more glorious. A policy will be formulated for proper and judicious use of vacant land in the city.

People’s manifesto

Puneites were appealed to present their expectations at the Pune Next forum. Thousands of suggestions were made. Some select suggestions have been included in the Sankalp Patra. These suggestions relate to the jurisdictions of the Centre, the State and the civic body. Follow-up will definitely be taken at the three levels.

A ‘No Vehicle Zone’ should be implemented once a week on major roads in the city. Heavy vehicles should be banned entry from 8.30 am to 10.30 am and 5.30 pm to 10 pm. One day in a month should be reserved for exclusive use of public transport, e-vehicles and bicycles.

Every housing society should plant trees once every three months. Industries, banks should take responsibility for preservation of green cover on hills, at schools and public places. The use of DJ should be stopped in public celebrations.

Street food should be checked frequently for its quality. Leakages in water pipelines and wastage of water from tankers should be curbed. Tree plantation should be carried out on government land. Measures should be taken to stop flooding of streets during the rainy season. Public urinals and toilets should be cleaned on priority, preferably every four hours. No Vehicle Zone should be implemented around heritage buildings. Ramwadi Metro should be extended up to the airport.

Pune’s all round development should take place. Efforts will be made for expanding infrastructural development, conservation of nature, public transport, and new roads. The PMPML fleet will have more e-buses. Metro railway network will be expanded. The new MP’s office will be open 24X7 to listen to people’s grievances.

The Modi government has addressed the problems of the city. The Metro railway, riverfront development, Chandni Chowk flyover are some examples. The Centre has given e-buses to Pune. Subsidy has been granted for the Jica project. The city’s development has been planned by Murlidhar Mohol.
