Sharad Pawar-Ajit pawar

Nashik: NCP (SP) President Sharad Pawar shared details about NCP (AP) President Ajit Pawar’s absence from campaigning on Thursday.

Sharad Pawar addressed a press conference in Nashik. Ajit Pawar is not to be seen after the Baramati Lok Sabha election. PM Modi held a road show in Mumbai. Public meetings were also organised but Ajit Pawar was absent. This has given rise to discussions in political circles.

Sharad Pawar said that Ajit was sick. Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar are opponents in the Baramati LS seat. They criticised each other. Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra Pawar and Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule are the main rivals in Baramati. Voting was over on May 7. Since then Ajit Pawar has not been seen in public rallies or places.

Sharad Pawar also took a potshot at MNS President Raj Thackeray. Thackeray had said in a poll rally that Sharad Pawar engineered splits in other parties and that his own party was divided. Reacting to this, Sharad Pawar said, “I do not know the status of Raj Thackeray in Maharashtra’s politics. I heard that Nashik is his base. However, he is not seen in Nashik these days.”

Ajit Pawar had expressed his displeasure over State Minister Chandrakant Patil’s statements about Sharad Pawar in Baramati. Patil had said that the BJP wanted to finish Sharad Pawar. This led to a confrontation between the BJP and Ajit Pawar. Patil was kept away from campaigning in Baramati.

Sharad Pawar criticised Modi too. He said that the Mumbaikars were hassled by Modi’s road show. He added that Modi had lost his confidence and was making communal comments.
