New Electricity Connection in Just 24 to 48 Hours: Mahavitaran’s Swift Service Powers Up Pune

New Electricity Connection In Pune

Pune: In a significant development, Mahavitaran (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited), the state power utility, has rolled out a groundbreaking initiative that promises to revolutionize the process of getting a new electricity connection. With an aim to provide efficient and seamless services to its customers, Mahavitaran now guarantees a new electricity connection in just 24 hours for urban areas and 48 hours for rural areas under the Pune circle.

Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar made this announcement, indicating a much-needed respite for citizens and businesses seeking prompt power connections. The move comes as part of Mahavitaran’s commitment to enhancing customer experience and simplifying the procedures for obtaining new electricity connections.

The initiative, which has already gained momentum, has witnessed a remarkable success rate. Over the last three months from April to June, a staggering 60,970 new electricity connections have been granted in the Pune circle. This rapid progress is a testament to the tireless efforts of the Mahavitaran team in ensuring a swift and hassle-free process for its customers.

Deputy Chief Minister of the state, Devendra Fadnavis, has lauded this initiative and urged for further acceleration in new power connections. Acknowledging the pressing need for uninterrupted electricity services, Lokesh Chandra, Chairman and Managing Director of Mahavitran, has taken proactive steps to expedite the entire process. Additionally, the availability of an ample number of new electricity meters has been ensured to meet the surging demand.

Director (Operation) Sanjay Taksande has taken up the responsibility of overseeing the process to ensure the seamless availability of electricity meters and new connections.

The Pune circle, which encompasses the cities of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, along with Haveli talukas, as well as Mulshi, Velhe, Maval, Khed, Junnar, and Ambegaon talukas, will be beneficiaries of this expedited process. Wherever feasible, new electricity connections will be made available promptly in both urban and rural areas.

To further streamline the process, Mahavitaran has introduced an online application facility through its website www.mahadiscom.in and a mobile app to enable customers to apply for new electricity connections conveniently.

The process starts with customers submitting an application for a new electricity connection. Subsequently, Mahavitran’s staff will assess the technical feasibility at the proposed connection point. Upon completing the necessary checks, a quotation for the electricity connection will be issued to the applicant. Once the payment of the quotation amount is made, the new electricity connection will be activated.

The convenience of this process extends to both single and three-phase new power connections with load capacities of up to 20 kW or 27 HP. Branch offices will handle all procedures for connections up to 20 kW, while Sub-Divisional Offices will process connections up to 50 kW.

The initiative has garnered praise from citizens and businesses alike, as it addresses long-standing concerns about the time-consuming process of obtaining electricity connections. With this expedited service, Mahavitaran aims to empower its customers with prompt and reliable electricity services, fostering growth and development in the region.
