CM visits Krishi Pandhari Exhibition and Cereals Festival

Pandharpur – Stating that along with traditional farming, farmers can attain prosperity by deploying state of the art technologies in agriculture chief minister Eknath Shinde today said that farmers need to cultivate species which give double income in the equivalent inputs. He expressed the confidence that the agricultural exhibition would prove useful in taking information of new projects to farmers.

He was addressing Krishi Pandhari exhibition and Cereals Festival organized by the department of agriculture. The program organized at Pandharpur APMC (Agricultural Produce Market Committee) campus was attended by minister for medical education Girish Mahajan, MP Dr Shrikant Shinde, MLA Bharat Gogawale, district collector Milind Shambharkar, Zilla Parishad CEO Dilip Swamy, district agricultural officer Dattatrey Gaavsane, ATMA Project director Madan Mukane and others.


Stating that he has prayed it to Lord Vithal during the MahaPooja to bring prosperity to farmers in the state, the chief minister said that the state Government has taken many decisions in the interest of the farmers. He pointed out that Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyaan 2.0 along with NaMo Shetkari Sanman Nidhi scheme, crop insurance in Re. 1 and Mega-Agri Development Campaign are some of such initiatives. He said that for providing crop insurance in Re. 1 the state Government would be paying the instalment towards premium. He said that farmers are going to benefit from the decision of the state Government to give Rs. 6000 per year to the beneficiaries of PM Kisan Yojana in addition to the same amount by the Union Government.

Extending his wishes for good health and prosperity of farmers, the chief minister Shinde said that this year is being celebrated as the International Cereals Year as a reason of which he could see this exhibition on cereals and its other allied products. He said that by gathering information and inspiration through such exhibition if farmers go for experimenting newer things, they would usher in agricultural revolution.

The exhibition aims at disseminating information of modern technologies in agriculture along with conveying information about various Government schemes, strengthening farmer-science extension mechanism chain, developing farmer producer o consumer chain, providing a boost to market oriented agricultural production and marketing, importance of cereals in nutrition.
There are 125 stalls in this exhibition including 29 Government department stalls. There are stalls of various Corporations, farmer producer companies which have displayed Millets, processed food, organic and medicinal items along with seeds, fertilizers related companies, manufacturers of drip and other irrigation methods, agricultural mechanization goods and other daily household goods and items are also displayed in this exhibition.
