Solapur / Pune : In a big blow to Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi (VBA) and, to a lesser extent, to the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in Solapur, VBA’s official candidate from Solapur, Rahul Gaikwad, suddenly withdrew from the election fray on the last day of withdrawal. At that time, he justified his decision by claiming his priority was to save the constitution and opposing the BJP.
After declaring his withdrawal from the election, Gaikwad remained aloof from the media for some time, after which he was directly spotted on the dais at Rahul Gandhi’s Solapur meeting. Therefore, there are discussions in the political circles about Congress’ and more of Sushilkumar Shinde’s involvement in these behind-the-scenes events.
However, because of this, the chances of Praniti Shinde’s victory in the Solapur election have gotten stronger.
On Wednesday afternoon, a campaign rally by Rahul Gandhi for Mahavikas Aaghadi’s candidate, Praniti Shinde, was held on a large ground at Mari Aai Chowk in Solapur city. At this rally, various leaders of Mahavikas Aaghadi, along with VBA’s candidate Rahul Gaikwad, were present.
Before withdrawing from the election, Rahul Gaikwad aired a video message withdrawing his candidature, saying, “I am withdrawing my nomination to save the constitution.” After this, Rahul Gaikwad suddenly disappeared and was later spotted on the stage of Mahavikas Aaghadi’s public meeting in Solapur.
After this, the picture of Solapur’s battles has become clear, and now there has been a direct fight between Mahavikas Aaghadi’s candidate Praniti Shinde and Mahayuti’s candidate Ram Satpute for this Lok Sabha seat.
