C-DAC Collaborates with Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Engineering, Pune, to Introduce New Technical Courses

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Engineering, Pune (BV(DU)COE), in its commitment to enhancing the competence and value addition of its regular engineering curriculum, has unveiled unique programs for its students in collaboration with C-DAC Pune. These programs will be implemented at BV(DU)COE starting from the upcoming academic year 2023-24.

Dr. Vidula Sohoni, Principal of BV(DU)COE, highlighted the institution’s ongoing efforts to adopt innovative approaches in offering multidisciplinary courses under one roof. She mentioned that BV(DU)COE has successfully registered on the NASSCOM portal through C-DAC Pune. Moreover, BV(DU)COE is among the first five SPOKES (Scheme for Promotion of Open Source Software) registered by C-DAC Pune. The training programs on Augmented and Virtual Reality, as well as Artificial Intelligence, will be conducted online, comprising a course duration of 120 hours. This format allows students to complete the course at their own pace and according to their availability. Upon successful completion, C-DAC Pune will issue certificates recognized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and NASSCOM. Dr. Sohoni also expressed gratitude for C-DAC’s assurance of providing the necessary assistance to execute the program successfully.

Dr. Deepak Bankar, Head of Electrical and Computer Engineering at BV(DU)COE, explained that the Future Skills PRIME program focuses on emerging technologies like Augmented and Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence. This initiative by C-DAC aims to deliver quality training programs in the field of Electronics and Information and Communication Technology. The Future Skills PRIME project is a joint effort of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) and NASSCOM. Dr. Bankar emphasized that students enrolled in these courses at BV(DU)COE will have seamless access to free and paid content, assessments, virtual labs, and the opportunity to obtain certification in their chosen skills. Notably, BV(DU)COE students can avail themselves of this program at a significantly discounted fee of just Rs. 80/-, compared to the regular fee of Rs. 3390/-, thanks to the institution’s SPOKES registration.

The collaboration between C-DAC Pune and BV(DU)COE heralds a promising development in the technical education landscape, offering students an opportunity to acquire in-demand skills and stay abreast of the rapidly evolving industry requirements. With these new technical courses, BV(DU)COE aims to empower its students with the necessary expertise and knowledge to excel in their future careers.
