Unexpected Chill: Pashan’s 13°C Stuns as Pune Outshivers Lonavala

Puneites experienced a sudden respite from the sweltering heat as Pashan recorded the season’s lowest temperature at 13 degrees Celsius, outshining Lonavala at 17.5 degrees Celsius. Even Shivajinagar surpassed the famed hill station with a minimum temperature of 14.4 degrees Celsius, bringing a welcome relief after days of warm weather, despite the official onset of winter.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) attributes this drop in temperatures to clear skies and low moisture in the air. According to the IMD, this cooler weather is expected to persist in the coming days, with intermittent breaks, creating a refreshing climate for the city.

The uneven rainfall experienced in Pune since the beginning of November has contributed to this shift in weather patterns. Post-Diwali, temperatures have significantly dropped, with the Haveli region recording a cool 12.7 degrees Celsius.

Anupam Kashyapi, the head of IMD’s weather forecasting division, stated that Pashan’s low of 13 degrees Celsius will endure until the morning of November 18. However, he anticipates a subsequent rise in temperatures with a subsequent fall from November 21, ranging between 13 to 14 degrees Celsius.
