In a poignant tribute to Pune’s rich historical legacy, Maharashtra’s Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Chandrakant Patil, graced Parvati Hill with his presence today. Known as Pune’s pride, Parvati Hill carries a significant historical heritage that continues to captivate the essence of the city.
Minister Patil paid his respects at the tomb of Shrimant Nanasaheb Peshwa, acknowledging and honoring the revered memory of this historical figure. The visit also included an inspection of the ongoing efforts to enhance the statue of Shrimant Bajirao Peshwa on the hill, showcasing a commitment to preserving the cultural and historical treasures of the region.
Accompanied by notable personalities such as Ramesh Bhagwat, president of Devdeveshwar Sansthan, Sandeep Khardekar, state spokesperson of BJP, Girish Khatri, and other dignitaries, Minister Patil delved into the rich history of Parvati. Insights were shared into the Kartik Swamy Temple, Devdeveshwar Temple, Museum, Ganapati in Sadre, and Parvatai Devi, highlighting the diverse historical tapestry of the hill.
During the visit, Minister Patil expressed satisfaction with the progress of various developmental initiatives funded by MLA Madhuri Misal, emphasizing the collective effort to enhance the cultural and historical significance of Parvati Hill.
Addressing future plans, Minister Patil assured support for a proposed war memorial, underlining the importance of honoring Nanasaheb Peshwa’s contributions in building modern Pune. He pledged a steadfast commitment to establishing a fitting memorial that would serve as a testament to the mountain’s historical significance.
In his concluding remarks, Minister Patil stated, “Understanding the history of the Peshwas and Nanasaheb Peshwa’s pivotal role in shaping Pune’s infrastructure, I am dedicated to restoring the mountain’s past glory.”
