Tragic Electrocution Incident Claims Man’s Life in Brahma Estate Compound

In a devastating incident, a 30-year-old man named Ajay Kumar Sharma lost his life on Saturday evening after being electrocuted in the Brahma Estate compound. The incident occurred when Sharma came into contact with a fence in the compound through which an electric current was passing. Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter.

According to the police, Sharma had ventured out for a walk inside the e-learning school premises within the Bramha Estate compound as it started to rain and the power went out. Unfortunately, he inadvertently touched the fence, which was carrying electric current from a wire connected to a streetlight pole in the compound.

Expressing grief over the incident, the victim’s brother alleged that his brother’s life was lost due to the mismanagement of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL). He demanded that the police register a case against MSEDCL and the concerned property holder responsible for the fence.

Providing details of the incident, Santosh Sonawane, the police inspector of Kondhwa police station, stated, “Preliminary information suggests that Sharma was walking within the e-learning school premises at the Bramha Estate around 7 p.m. His hand came into contact with the fence, which was carrying electric current at the time. He tragically lost his life on the spot. As part of the procedure, we have registered an FIR against an unknown person, and further investigation is currently underway.”

In response to the incident, Nishikant Raut, the public relations officer of MSEDCL, clarified that the streetlight pole in question is located inside the Brahma Estate compound and is not under the jurisdiction of MSEDCL. Raut added, “The state government’s electricity inspector has reported that the electricity from the streetlight pole spread to the fence when the power was restored. This is an internal electricity problem, and there is no fault of the MSEDCL.”
