Online Portal for Housing Society Complaints to Launch in September

Cooperative housing society members in Maharashtra are set to benefit from an upcoming online portal that will allow them to file complaints conveniently. According to senior officials from the state cooperation department, the online portal is expected to be operational from the first week of September. This initiative aims to streamline the complaint redressal process for around 1.2 lakh registered housing societies across the state.

A Digital Solution for Housing Society Issues: The online portal, which will be accessible through the Maharashtra cooperation website and the Sahakar Samvad mobile application, aims to address various issues related to housing societies. These issues can range from administrative concerns to infrastructure problems that members of cooperative housing societies often encounter.

Simplified Complaint Filing Process: To utilize the online portal, housing society members will need to pay a nominal fee, estimated to be in the range of Rs50-70. Once on the portal, users can easily file their complaints from the comfort of their homes. The process entails providing area-wise details of the complaint. The complaints will then be assigned to the respective deputy registrar responsible for addressing them.

Timely Resolution of Complaints: Upon registration, the designated official will be obligated to address the complaint within a specified time frame, depending on the nature of the issue. If the complaint falls outside the department’s purview, the complainant will receive guidance to direct their concern to the relevant department. This efficient approach is expected to expedite the resolution of complaints and streamline the complaint management process.

Empowering Housing Society Members: The implementation of the online portal is welcomed by housing society members who have long demanded an efficient mechanism for registering and tracking complaints. This digital platform will not only enable members to initiate complaints seamlessly but also allow them to monitor the status and outcome of their filed complaints.

Future Plans and Expansion: While the initial introduction of the portal involves a nominal fee, there are plans to eventually make the process free of cost. This move aligns with the long-term objective of ensuring easy and accessible complaint redressal for all housing society members.

Enhancing Efficiency and Easing Workload: Currently, deputy registrar offices receive over 1500 complaints each month, with a significant portion originating from major cities like Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nashik, and Aurangabad. The online portal is expected to alleviate the workload of these offices by efficiently sorting and addressing complaints. It will also serve as a valuable tool for filtering out non-relevant complaints.

As the online portal for housing society complaints is poised to launch in September, cooperative housing society members can look forward to a streamlined, user-friendly, and efficient solution for addressing their concerns and enhancing their living experience.
