Pune: The Social Security Cell of the Crime Branch has busted a high-profile sex racket being run at a five-star hotel in the Viman Nagar area. A Rajasthani actress and two girls from Uzbekistan have been rescued in the raid. Two pimps have been booked.

A case has been registered against Irfan alias Rahul Madan alias Madan Sanyasi and Rohit under sections 370, 34 of the IPC, along with the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. Woman police constable Manisha Suresh Pukale lodged a complaint in this regard at the Viman Nagar Police Station.

The action was taken on Tuesday evening at Hotel International on Neco Garden road. The Social Security Cell got a tip-off that prostitution was going on at the hotel. A decoy customer was sent to cross-check the same. Then the raid was carried out on two rooms and the three women were rescued. One of them is an actress from Rajasthan.

The accused were running the flesh trade using the victims and had booked two rooms in the hotel. They were earning their leaving through prostitution. The police seized valuables worth Rs 15,000.

It was revealed during the investigation that the accused were also running a similar racket at Hotel O in the Koregaon Park area.

The Viman Nagar Police are investigating further.

The action was taken under the guidance of Commissioner of Police (CP) Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP (addl charge) & Addl CP Ramnath Pokale and DCP Amol Zende. Social Security Cell Sr PI Bharat Jadhav, API Aniket Pote, API Rajesh Malgave, PSI Ashwini Bhosale, police personnel Rajendra Kumavat, Sagar Kekan, Tushar Bhivarkar, Manisha Pukale, Omkar Kumbhar, Reshma Kank, Hanumant Kamble, Ajay Rane, Baba Karpe and Kishor Bhujbal took part in the action.
