Pune: Dhirendra Krishna Shastri bowed yesterday before the revered Saint Tukaram Maharaj in the sacred city of Dehu and offered his prayers. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri had a three-day darbar in Pune, during which he took out some moments to go for the darshan of Saint Tukaram Maharaj in Dehu.
For the past couple of months, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, also known by the sobriquet Bagheshwar Baba, has been constantly in the news for his various claims and controversial statements. However, this has resultantly marked a significant rise in his popularity, with thousands of his Darbars organised at various places and cities in the country and lakhs of devotees gathered to listen to his Pravachans.
One of his darbars was held in Pune, for which he was in the city for the last three days. As he was in the city, he took the blessings of Saint Tukaram Maharaj by going to Dehu. Speaking on this occasion, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri said, “It is my great privilege to take the Darshan of Tukoba. The trustees also make good arrangements for me. They gave me all the information regarding Tukoba’s work and the workings of the trust.”
“Our country has a great saint tradition, with various saints from the different places of the country helping in social awareness of the society, which ultimately helped in uplifting the moral values of society. If we take this tradition further, we will soon accomplish the dream of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to build a Hindu nation,” Shastri added.
Acknowledging a past controversy where he made contentious statements about Saint Tukaram Maharaj, Shastri took the opportunity to issue an apology during the recent visit. He clarified that his intentions were never to hurt anyone and expressed remorse for any misunderstanding caused by his previous remarks.
