Pune: Midnight Skirmish on Sinhagad Road Vicinity! Intoxicated Individuals Assaulted Young Man With Machete

Pune: On the very first day of the new year, a few individuals created a ruckus on the streets of the Sinhagad Road area. In an altercation that seemingly arose for a trivial reason, a few gang members assaulted one person with a machete and seriously injured him.

This entire incident took place on the public road at Panmala Colony on Sinhagad Road within the limits of Parvati Police Station on January 1 around 2.30 a.m. In this regard, the injured Kiran Balu Nimse (a resident of Panmala Vasahat, Sinhagad Road, Pune) has filed a complaint against four people, including some recidivists, at Parvati Police Station.

According to the police, the accused, Nimse, was talking with his friend on the public road in front of Buddha Vihar in Panmala Colony on Sinhagad Road. At that time, a few intoxicated people came to that place and started arguing with the plaintiff and his friends. They further abused the plaintiff and his friends under the influence of alcohol.

When the plaintiff opposed them, enraged gang member Aditya Chavan assaulted the plaintiff with hands and legs. He also assaulted the plaintiff with a machete, causing serious injuries to the plaintiff and his friends. Furthermore, other accused brandished their weapons in the air and created terror in the area for some time.

After the incident, the plaintiff reported the entire incident at Parvati Police Station. He informed that all the accused were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the altercation. Accordingly, police booked the accused gang members, Aditya Chavan, Piyush (full name not known), Tushar Kadam, and Sonya Khule, under sections 307, 323, 504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

Police Sub-Inspector Chandrakant Kamthe is delving further into the incident to ascertain the exact cause of the conflict.
