Pune RTO Gears Up: Dedicated Facility to Ensure Vehicle Safety During Festivals

In preparation for the upcoming Ganesh festival and Eid-E-Milad processions, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Pune has taken proactive steps to ensure the safety and compliance of vehicles participating in these events. An independent facility has been established for the meticulous inspection of vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and tractors, which play a crucial role in transporting idols, sound systems, and decorations during these vibrant processions.

Dedicated Inspection Facility:

The RTO’s dedicated inspection facility will be operational at two locations: the RTO Alandi Road Testing Ground in Phulenagar and Dive Testing Ground. This facility will be available for vehicle inspections from September 19th to September 29th. Officials from the Pune RTO have strongly urged the members of the respective procession organizations to have their vehicles thoroughly inspected and to carry the inspection certificate during the processions.

Ensuring Vehicle and Road Safety:

To enhance safety measures, the RTO officials have provided essential guidelines and precautions for vehicle owners and drivers. These include:

  1. Completing all necessary documents for the inspection.
  2. Using handbrakes when stationary for extended periods.
  3. Ensuring the fuel tank cap is securely fitted.
  4. Avoiding unnecessary honking, especially during processions.
  5. Switching off engines when vehicles are stationary.
  6. Prohibiting inflammable materials inside the driver’s cabin.
  7. Limiting the number of passengers around the driver to prevent any distractions during driving.

These comprehensive precautions are aimed at guaranteeing the safety of all participants and maintaining the smooth flow of these culturally significant processions.
