Pune’s Sub Registrar Offices: Closure Amidst Election Preparations

Thirteen Sub Registrar Offices in Pune City are set to shutter their doors on May 6th and 7th, as announced by Joint District Registrar Class-1 and Collector of Stamps, Santosh Hingane. The closure stems from the impending election for the Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency scheduled for May 7, 2024.

Under the purview of the Joint District Registrar Pune City, Haveli No.-2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 12, 13, and 16 are slated for closure. Moreover, secondary registrars stationed in offices 18, 20, 21, and 24 have been enlisted as polling officers for the election, necessitating the temporary closure of these locations as well.

It’s paramount to recognize that despite these closures, all other Sub Registrar Offices across the city will remain operational for document registration purposes. The decision to suspend services temporarily is a strategic maneuver aimed at streamlining the electoral process.

By deploying secondary registrars to fulfill polling duties, the administration endeavors to ensure a seamless voting experience while mitigating disruptions to vital services. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to plan their visits to Sub Registrar Offices accordingly, bearing in mind the closure dates and the continued functionality of other offices throughout the city.

The temporary closure of 13 Sub Registrar Offices in Pune City on May 6th and 7th serves as a preparatory step for the forthcoming Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency election, prioritizing the smooth execution of democratic processes while upholding essential public services.
