PUNE: The preparations being made by the PMC for the Ganeshotsav are in the final stage. The civic administration has made arrangements for immersion, collection of idols, appointment of guards and toilets. During the festival, 400 mobile toilets and 150 mobile tanks are going to be made available.
Information about 1,183 public toilets has been made available in the toiletseva app. A person can enter his address and can locate public toilets in the area. The facility of QR Code will be provided at paid public toilets.
This year, 42 tanks and 568 iron tanks have been made available. In the jurisdiction of 15 ward offices, Ganesh idol collection and donation centres are being set up at 252 places. In the areas having artificial tanks and iron tanks, 256 pots for dumping waste flowers and garlands will be placed.
The Ganesh idols collected at all ward offices will be immersed at a mine in Wagholi. For this, necessary staff and supervisory officers have been appointed by the Solid Waste Management Department in three shifts. The ward offices have been given instructions to keep roads, open spaces, garbage dumping areas, river bed, ghats, places of immersion tanks and mandal areas clean.
The motor vehicle department will make vehicles available as per the requirement of ward offices.
A jawan of the Fire Brigade will be deployed at immersion ghats along the Mutha river from 1 pm to 9 pm with two security guards in three shifts. Fire Brigade officers have also been appointed at the ghats.
