A chaotic scene unfolded in Pune’s Camp area on Friday as a luxury car careened off course, colliding with multiple vehicles and parked two-wheelers. The accident, which occurred at Jaffrine Lane, drew swift response from law enforcement following a PCR call reporting the incident.
Details of the Incident
The collision left a trail of damage, with at least 10 to 12 vehicles bearing the brunt of the luxury car’s unexpected trajectory. Among those affected was Mohamad Ali Khatri, a salesman in the Camp area, who sustained injuries in the mishap. Khatri has since been transported to the hospital for further medical attention.
Rapid Police Response
Upon arrival at the scene, police apprehended Ravindra Dhanawade (32), the driver of the luxury car. Dhanawade, who was en route to his residence after dropping off his employer’s daughter at school, was taken into custody for questioning.
Driver’s Account
During interrogation, Dhanawade revealed that he suffers from epilepsy, citing it as the reason for his sudden loss of control over the vehicle. In light of this disclosure, authorities have detained him for further investigation, including necessary medical examinations to ascertain the precise cause of the accident.
Legal Proceedings
Lashkar police have initiated legal proceedings against the car driver under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vehicle Act. Ongoing investigations aim to shed light on the circumstances leading up to the collision and determine appropriate actions in accordance with the law.
