Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Strategic Expenditure Plans for Civic Growth in 2023-24 Approved

Pimpri, 31st October 2023: In a comprehensive meeting presided over by Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh, the Standing Committee of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) approved various expenditures for the upcoming year 2023-24, encompassing a range of development and civic projects.

The veterinary department approved purchasing a much-needed digital X-ray machine for the new clinic. Furthermore, funds were allocated for the repair and ancillary works in Ward No. 7, Bhosari Cemetery, Dashkriya Ghat, Gavhane Wasti, Adinath Nagar, Gaothan, Shanti Nagar, Vikas Colony, and other localities.

The architectural enhancements for a new laundry at Yashwantrao Chavan Hospital were sanctioned, alongside the improvement and development of roads, including Bhosari Dighi Shiv Road, through asphalting.

Expenditure was also approved for the construction and ancillary works of various municipal toilets in Ward No. 7, as well as for the extension of the second floor, postgraduate course, and new mortuary building at Municipal YCM Hospital.

The meeting further allocated funds for the mechanical cleaning of public toilets in the D field area, the repair of architectural works in Municipal Ward No. 3, Charholi, and the provision of large saplings for tree plantation.

Architectural maintenance and repair work in various locations, such as the Pimple Nilakh School No. 52 under the Regional Office of the Municipality and the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipality at Ward No. 28, Pimple Saudagar, received approval.

Expenditure on bedding drains, wall repair, and other ancillary works in Municipal Ward No. 24, Thergaon, was sanctioned. The meeting also addressed the maintenance of public toilets, beautification of roads and parks, and ornamental plant provision for various areas in Municipal Ward No. 19.

The culmination of these initiatives demonstrated PCMC’s commitment to urban development and infrastructure enhancement, culminating in the city’s recognition at a national level. PCMC was awarded the first prize in the “No Vehicle Use” initiative organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Central Government, for its innovative bicycle and pedestrian route.

During the meeting, Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh and other officials were felicitated for their contributions to these developmental endeavors, marking a moment of celebration and acknowledgment of their dedicated service.
