Pune: Pune Lok Sabha Maha Yuti candidate Murlidhar Mohol on Thursday said that votes that he would get would be in the form of a loan which he would repay by implementing development projects.

He, along with his family members, took blessings of Pune’s deity Kasba Ganpati before he filed his nomination papers for the election.

He is scheduled to file his nominations on Thursday. Mohol will go to the district collectorate in a rally from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue. A public meeting will be held after the conclusion of the rally, where Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar will be present.

Speaking to the media before filing his nominations, Mohol said, “I will get an opportunity to make Pune the best city in the country. I am happy about this. Irrespective of winning the election or securing a huge margin, I am aware of my responsibility.

“Every voter in the city expects something from me. They will vote me in the poll. Their votes are in the form of a loan, which I will repay with interest by bringing development projects to the city.

“BVA’s Vasant More and Congress’s Ravindra Dhangekar have done good work in their wards as corporators. However, this election decides the fate of the entire country. So, Puneites will have a broader view.

“They will decide who will represent them at the national level. They will send their representative by choosing their own candidate.”
