The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has commenced its preparations for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, with strong indications that the party will field candidates in the Pune and Maval constituencies. In a significant development, Amit Thackeray, the son of MNS chief Raj Thackeray, is scheduled to visit the city on Tuesday, where he will conduct a review meeting focused on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Amit Thackeray’s planned visit and the subsequent meeting have generated considerable speculation among political experts. According to these experts, the MNS is likely to nominate Amit Thackeray as a candidate in one of the constituencies within the Pune district. The party has entrusted Amit Thackeray with the responsibility of overseeing these two key constituencies.
It is worth noting that Pune district comprises three Lok Sabha constituencies, each currently represented by different political parties. The Pune Lok Sabha seat, previously held by BJP MP Girish Bapat, is vacant following his unfortunate passing. Meanwhile, the Maval seat is currently represented by MP Shrirang Barne, who belongs to the Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde. The third constituency, Shirur, is represented by NCP MP Amol Kolhe.
MNS chief Raj Thackeray has been actively involved in multiple review meetings held in Pune over the past few months, demonstrating the party’s keen interest in contesting the upcoming elections with full vigor. The unfolding developments indicate that the MNS is gearing up for a significant presence and role in the Lok Sabha elections for the Pune and Maval constituencies.
