In preparation for the reconstruction of the Sadhu Vaswani Bridge, the Pune Traffic Police has announced temporary traffic changes on an experimental basis in Bund Garden & Koregaon Park, effective from 24th February. The current bridge, deemed unsafe for traffic, will be demolished and reconstructed by the Pune Municipal Corporation, potentially causing congestion in the specified areas.
Traffic Modifications:
- Parnkuti Chowk to Blue Diamond Chowk to Moboj Chowk route will be one-way.
- MoboJ Chowk to Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk (Bundgarden Road) will be one-way.
- Alankar Chowk to IB Chowk to Circuit House Chowk to Mor Odha Chowk will be one-way.
- Mor Odha Chowk to Council Hall Chowk will be one-way.
- A 24-hour ban on heavy, bulky, multi-axle vehicles on the specified routes (excluding essential service vehicles).
- Council Hall Chowk to Sadhu Vaswani Putala Road will be one-way.
Alternate Routes:
- Vehicles going from Nagar Road to Mor Odha Chowk will follow a designated route through Parnkuti Chowk, Mahatma Gandhi Chowk, Blue Diamond Chowk, Mangaldas Road, Moboj Chowk, IB Chowk, and Mor Odha.
- Vehicles heading to Mor Odha Chowk, Koregaon Park, will take the route through Mor Odha Chowk, Council Hall Chowk, Mangaldas Chowk, Bund Garden Road, Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk, and Koregaon Park.
- Vehicles traveling from Pune Station to Koregaon Park will have two designated routes via Alankar Chowk or IB Chowk, both leading to Koregaon Park.
- Buses from Ghorpadi and Bhairoba Nala Chowk will be directed through Mor Odha Chowk, Kahur Road Junction, Tarapur Road Junction, Blue Line Chowk, and Council Hall Chowk.
- Temporary modifications, including converting one-way roads to two-way as needed.
The experimental changes aim to alleviate traffic issues during the Sadhu Vaswani Bridge reconstruction, ensuring smooth flow and minimizing disruptions for commuters.
