Pune: In Pune’s Wadarwadi area, a 19-year-old girl was molested by a person while allegedly speaking abusive and obscene language. This incident took place on Tuesday, January 16, at around 10.30 a.m. on the public road in front of Basweshwar Math in Wadarwadi.
In this regard, the victim girl filed a police complaint against the accused, Akash Subhedar, at Chaturshringi police station on Wednesday, January 17.
The victim girl has known the accused for the past five to six years. On Tuesday, when the plaintiff was taking her friend to the nearby clinic for dressing for her injuries, the accused, Akash Subhedar, halted the plaintiff at Basweshwar Math in Wadarwadi.
The plaintiff mentioned that the accused started talking to her in obscene language on a public road, causing her embarrassment in front of people. He also molested her by behaving in a contemptuous manner with her on the road.
After that, the girl immediately rushed to the Chaturshringi police station and filed a complaint against the accused. Based on her complaint, the police lodged the accused under 354A and 509 of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigation in this case is being led by Assistant Police Inspector Anil Kekan.
In a separate but equally concerning incident, another 19-year-old girl fell victim to molestation and sexual abuse in the Vishrantwadi area. A 32-year-old resident who is living in the same building as the victim girl molested her by outraging her modesty.
As per the complaint filed by the victim, on January 13, when the victim went to the terrace of her residential building situated in Munjaba wasti in Dhanori, the accused, Ganesh Kairamkonda, allegedly followed her.
The girl mentioned that the accused held her hand forcefully and started making unwelcome advances towards her. Further, he also harassed the girl many times while she was going to the grocery store.
Based on the girl’s complaint, Vishrantwadi police registered a case against the accused under 354 and 354d of the Indian Penal Code and initiated further investigation into the matter.
