Pune: Woman Reports Inappropriate Messaging And Harassment; Accused Faces Legal Action

Pune: In a contemptible episode, an incident of molesting a woman by sending her vulgar text messages transpired on Thursday at around 7 p.m. at the woman’s house in Sahakarnagar. In this case, the victim woman lodged a police complaint against a person, originally hailing from Devgarh, Uttar Pradesh, at the Parvati police station on Friday.

The 65-year-old plaintiff woman owns a company named I.S.G. Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., and the alleged accused, Sachin Dilip Verma/Soni, works under the company’s catering department. According to the information, the woman’s company has taken up the contract of Vedanta Company in Goa, on which the accused was working for last few days.

On Thursday evening, when the plaintiff was at his home, the accused sent some inappropriate text messages to the woman out of nowhere. He further sent her some unlawful content and abused her, causing her shame. In this regard, the woman residing in Sahakarnagar registered a complaint against the accused at Parvati Police Station.

Taking swift action, the police registered an FIR under IPC 509 and the IT Act against Sachin Verma/Soni. The police inspector, Nikalje, is conducting further investigation into the case.
