Pune: Warje Malwadi Recidivist Faces One-Year Jail Term in Nagpur Central Jail; Police Commissioner Issues Order Under MPDA Act

Pune: A recidivist criminal who had created terror in Warje Malwadi police station limits has been apprehended by the police and booked under the MPDA (Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities) Act. The Pune Police Commissioner issued orders regarding it, and final action was taken on Wednesday, December 20. Notably, this is the 73rd action of the Police Commissioner under the MPDA Act.

The detained recidivist is identified as Rishikesh Kedari and is a resident of Ramnagar, Warje Malwadi. Kedari has been charged at Warje Malwadi police station for various criminal activities. He committed serious crimes such as attempts to murder, theft, extortion, illegal possession of weapons, etc. Furthermore, in the last five years, four cases of grave violence have been registered against him.

To curb his increasing menacing activities, a proposal was sent to Pune City Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar to take action against him under the MPDA Act. After a detailed scrutiny of the proposals and documents received, the Commissioner of Police gave the green light to proceed with the application. Subsequently, Kedari was apprehended by the police team and received a one-year prison sentence at Nagpur Central Jail.

This operation was carried out by a team of Warje Malwadi Police Station Senior Police Inspector Sunil Jaitapurkar, Crime Branch, PCB Senior Police Inspector Chandrakant Bedre, and police officers.
