In a concerted effort to safeguard the health and well-being of infants, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has initiated a significant vaccination drive called ‘Indradhanush 5.0’. This campaign, carried out in collaboration with the State Government’s Health Department and PMC’s Health Department, aims to ensure the comprehensive immunization of infants.
The ‘Indradhanush 5.0’ vaccination drive has been structured into three distinct phases, each targeted at administering vital vaccines to infants. PMC officially announced that the first phase of this mission commenced on August 7, 2023, and is slated to run until August 12, 2023. Subsequently, the second phase is scheduled from September 11, 2023, to September 16, 2023, while the third and final phase is planned to take place from October 9, 2023, to October 14, 2023.
Underscoring the significance of this initiative, PMC emphasized that the complete dosage of vaccinations administered to infants plays a pivotal role in bolstering their immunity and contributing to their overall well-being in the long term. Parents are encouraged to actively engage in the process by acquiring and confirming vaccination details and dosages from nearby medical authorities.
To streamline the vaccination procedure and ensure a hassle-free experience, PMC has introduced the option for parents to book appointments through the U-WIN app. This digital platform streamlines the vaccination process, offering convenience and accessibility for parents seeking to provide their infants with the necessary protection against preventable diseases.
