Pune: Kondhwa Police Busted Illegal Vehicle Theft Network; Seized Eight Vehicles In Two Separate Actions

Pune: In two separate incidents within a week, Kondhwa police have succeeded in unravelling two cases of vehicle theft in the area, ultimately seizing eight vehicles from the accused. In this case, police have detained three accused along with a minor and detained all of them at Kondhwa Police Station.

On the night of December 12, Police Constable Sagar Bhosle and Santosh Bansode were patrolling in Kondhwa Police Station limits. At that time, they spotted a young man sitting on a Yamaha bike at Ambekar Chowk in Pisoli. Suspicious over his activities, police went towards him, only to notice a number plate on the bike was defaced. When the police asked him about this, he started giving vague answers.

After that, the police brought him to the police station along with his Yamaha bike. Assistant Police Inspector Dinesh Kumar Patil reported the entire incident to Senior Police Inspector Santosh Sonawane. As per the order of senior officials, police conducted a thorough investigation of the detained Sohail Mansur Potode, who ultimately confronted his involvement in six cases of vehicle theft along with a minor.

The police then detained his minor accomplice, who revealed five cases of vehicle theft within Kondhwa police station limits and one case of vehicle theft within Lashkar police station limits. The main culprit, Potode, is a resident of Shivtirth Nagar, Thergaon, and a garage proprietor by profession.

In a separate incident on the next day, Kondhwa police detained 23-year-old Saurabh Rajendra Bhosale, originally hailing from Solapur, in another vehicle theft incident. On December 13, Bhosale was sitting on a two-wheeler in the Kondhwa area. When he saw police in the area, he started running away. After that, police detained him and seized two illegal bikes from him.

In all, Kondhwa police have uncovered a total of eight vehicle theft cases in the last week. This exercise was done by an investigating team of police under the guidance of Police Commissioner of Police Ritesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police R Raja, Assistant Commissioner of Police Shahurao Salve, Senior Inspector of Police Santosh Sonawane, Inspector of Police (Crime) Sandeep Bhosle, and Inspector of Police (Crime) Sanjay Mogle.
