University Womens to discuss on ‘Sustainable Future’
Pune: Two days International Conference of Indian Federation of University Women’s Association(IFUWA) on the theme ‘Working Together for a Sustainable Future’ is being organized on 1st and 2nd March 2024 at the venue of University Women’s Association Gokhale Nagar, Pune. Dr.Ranjana Banerjee (President, IFUWA), Dr. Ujwala Shinde, (President, UWA, Pune), Kalyani Bondre (Secretary, UWA, Pune), Advocate Prema Kulkarni (Treasurer, UWA, Pune), Neelam Jagdale (Associate Representative)-The working committee members of this conference ,informed through a press release.
Conference will be inaugurated at 10am, on 1st March 2024, by Dr. Ujwala Chakradeo, Vice Chancellor, SNDT University , Mumbai will be the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony. Presentations on ‘Different aspects of Sustainability’ are planned at 12pm,where Dr. Vandana Shiva, Ms. Nimalka Fernando, Meher Pudumjee will speak. Panelists from SAARC Countries will participate in a session planned at 2.30pm. Sushil Bhardwaj Lifetime Achievement Award will be given at 4.15pm and a book on ‘Diet Sustainability with Millets’ written by Gayatri Vatsalayas will be released. Cultural program is being organized at 7pm by Guru Ramdas Palsule.
On 2nd March, discussion on sustainability by the ‘UWAsia’ members is where speakers from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Japan, Thailand, Hongkong will participate physically and over video presentation at 10.30am.Presentations of affiliates of IFUWA will also take place at 2.30pm.
