Pune: Fifth revered Kesariwada Ganesh arrives amidst heavy rain

PUNE: Our favourite deity Lord Ganesh is going to arrive on September 19 and almost a month is remaining. Against this background, activists of Ganesh mandals and citizens are busy planning about decoration and celebration. On Sunday (August 20), the idol of the fifth revered Ganpati, Kesariwada arrived amidst heavy rain and clang of dhol tasha.

Many Puneites had gathered to welcome the Lord and some others were clicking photos on their mobiles. A procession of the palanquin was carried out at Ramanbaug School, Omkareshwar temple, Narayan Peth police chowki and Kesariwada.

The President of Kesariwada Ganpati Mandal, Deepak Tilak, Trustee Rohit Tilak and present and former office-bearers were present. Rohit Tilak said, “We eagerly await the arrival of Lord Ganesh throughout the year and this year, the deity is going to arrive on September 19. But the arrival of the fifth revered Kesariwada Ganpati is decided according to Tilak almanac every year. Accordingly, the deity arrived today. For one month, several programmes would be organised at Kesariwada.”
