Pune: CP Ritesh Kumar acts against criminal gangs under MCOCA; So far, Pune police have taken action against 50 gangs

PUNE: After assuming charge as Police Commissioner, Ritesh Kumar has given stress on taking action against criminal gangs under the MCOCA. After orders from CP, action against MCOCA has been taken against 50 gangs.
The CP has issued orders for action to be taken under MCOCA against criminal Abhishek alias Abhi Ramesh Tambe of Dhanori and his two accomplices.

The accused have been identified as Abhishek Tambe (21), a resident of Dhanori, Sumit Nagesh Langde (25), a resident of Lohegaon Road and Prajwal Prashat Shinde (18), a resident of Dhanori Road. Tambe and his accomplices had assaulted a youth with a sickle and tried to kill him. Various crimes like murder, attempt to murder, extortion and possessing weapons are registered against Tambe and his accomplices.

A proposal of taking action against Tambe and his accomplices was prepared by Sr PI Balkrishna Kadam of Yerawada police station, PSI Kanchan Jadhav, Ravindrakumar Warangule, Sachin Mali, Sachin Shinde and others.

The proposal was checked by Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma and DCP Shashikant Borate. Later, the CP issued orders for taking action against Tambe and his accomplices. ACP Sanjay Patil is carrying out a probe.
