Pune: Democracy wall defaced in Gokhale Institute, ECI squad visits premises (Video)

Pune: A board installed on the democracy wall in the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics to spread awareness about voting in the Lok Sabha elections was defaced by writing ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ and ‘NOTA’ on it.

A wall of democracy has been readied in the Academic Block at the Gokhale Institute by the Electoral Literacy Club and Art Club. A signature board has been installed as a part of spreading awareness among voters. The board has logos of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Government of India, the University Grants Commission (UGC). However, ‘NOTA’, ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ has been written on it. The incident came to light on Thursday morning. It was not known who was involved in it.

After learning about the incident, a flying squad of the ECI visited the institute and inspected the premises.
